A Statement from the OJALL Board of Governors and the Ontario Lacrosse Association on the status of the 2021 Minto Cup

TWITTER, 5:35 PM · Mar 9, 2021 – The Canada Summer Games and the host Society were an integral part of the winning bid to host the Minto Cup in St. Catharines under the existing Minot Cup Agreement. The Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) supported the decision to postpone the Canada Summer Games to 2022 to protect the health and safety of all participants, however, 2021 CLA National Championships, including the Minot Cup, are still scheduled to take place until otherwise decided by the CLA Board of Directors.

The Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League (OJALL) Board of Governors are prepared to defend the Minto Cup on Ontario soil August 19 to 28, 2021 – if Provincial restrictions are lowered and it is safe to resume competition. The league unanimously decided that the 2021 Ontario Champion will be the home of the Minto Cup and the OJALL will host collectively in partnership with all parties participating.
